Kyle
Pommer, a member of the St. Johns High School Class of 2006, recently
graduated from Johnson and Wales University, Denver Campus with an
associate's degree in baking and pastry arts.
Additionally,
Pommer is a certified "pastry culinarian" by the American Culinary
Federation. He is the son of Jerry and Christine Pommer of Concho.
Pommer finished the program three months early, making the "Dean's
List" for the past four terms, and graduated cum laude with a cumulative
3.56 GPA. While in the program he completed an 11-week internship with
Compass Group. During his time at Johnson and Wales, he was introduced
to the techniques of making wedding cakes, tortes, classical French
pastries, artisan breads, plated deserts and showpieces.
Throughout the program, Pommer developed professionalism and proficiency in cost control, sanitation and even food marketing.
